Terry Lynn Champeaux II, "T-2", 22, West Orange

Terry Lynn Champeaux II “T-2” age 22, of West Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas.

“T-2” was laid to rest on October 7th in Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Groves TX. This very sad day for the Champeaux family will always and now, forever, be shared as a day of sadness for Israel and many Nations around the world. Our family shares your grief and feels your pain.

We would like to thank Randall “Flipper” Doolittle and Pastor “Boa” Ralph Zampini for Officiating. We also would like to thank First Baptist Church of Groves, Texas, Outlaw Bible Church of Vidor, Texas, First Baptist Church of Bridge City, Texas and Fellowship Baptist Church of Magnolia Springs, Texas for helping take care of the extremely large amount of people who wanted to say goodbye to our Little Man.

Terry Lynn Champeaux II was born on the Island of Galveston, Texas on August 27, 2001. It was a stormy rainy night and a tornado touched down in the Galveston Bay. From day one “T-2”s life has been exciting!

“T-2” grew up in Bridge City, Texas and is the son of Terry Lynn Champeaux I and Sundee Ann Newman Champeaux. His brother Michael Thomas Edward Newman Champeaux also grew up in Bridge City.

“T-2” was working at his dream job as a Mechanic at Speed Kings in Beaumont TX. Seriously, after all the kindness that Speed Kings showed to our family, wrenching on bikes was not the only reason that he loved his job so much; the people there are amazing. Fixing things however was what “T-2” loved to do. From a very young age “T-2” would follow his daddy around and learn to fix everything he could put his hands on. Our yard always had boats, motorcycles, 4 wheelers and other things that he and his best friend would drag home and work on. Terry II loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting or just taking a ride in his boat or on his motorcycle. He would have been overjoyed by all the motorcycles that showed up in his honor.

He often thought of people and tried to help the others around him. One example is when he got in his boat and rescued many people and animals including an iguana from their home after the hurricane. He enjoyed his momma’s cooking, rough housing with his brother, and taking adventures with his daddy. He was the kindest most loving man anyone would have had the privilege to know.

On January 25, 2009, Terry Lynn Champeaux II was Baptized at Woodcrest Baptist Church in Groves, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his sibling Noah Champeaux and his grandmother “Memaw” Brenda Joyce Swanzy Sawyer and his child, Saraha Lynn Champeaux, and many more loving family members who welcomed him to his Heavenly home.

Terry Lynn Champeaux II is survived by Kameryn E. Ramer, of Warren, TX, Cody Hunter Gilbert and Baylee DeAnn Smith of Bridge City; Grandparents “PawPaw” Albert Edward and “MawMaw” Lillie Mae Champeaux of Groves - formerly of Colmesneil, Texas. His brother, Michael Thomas Edward Newman Champeaux of Bridge City; mother, Sundee Ann Newman Champeaux and his sweet loving daddy, Terry Lynn Champeaux I; as well as a boat load of cousins, aunts, uncles, and others who loved him and will miss him dearly. Thank ya’ll for all the love and help. “T-2” would give each one of ya’ll a big old hug and a big sugar for helping send him home!

Until we see each other again. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

My Son

GOD’S gift of gold and precious gems

Are but grains of sand, compared to him

A golden halo about his face

Is tilted slightly, out of place

Delights of mischief, placed in my hand

With a frog or crawfish in a can

A smile he shares, while one hand hides

Flowers picked for my surprise.

Quiet, sometimes, in thoughts to ponder,

Wheels his mind to quickly wander

Endless question, always sought

Of how and why, intrigues his thoughts

From tears to laughter, when I’ve kissed a hurt.

hands, when washed, still traced with dirt.

Imagined race, has no defeat

With worn out tennis on his feet

Life enriched with sprinkled joy

Has blessed me by my little boy

LORD, He’s my treasure, by Your Grace

The one with mischief on his face

So, as he grew from day to day

We tried to lead him in Your way
