Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
The weather was wonderful, the automobiles were awesome, the entertainment was excellent, the vendors were varied, the food was fantastic, and it was a terrific time for all on Saturday in West Orange. The City of West Orange held its popular Holiday in the Park for the twenty-third time this past weekend.
The second annual car show at Holiday in the Park had even more participants than last year's. Mayor Pro-Tempore Meritta Kennedy organized the car show. "Better turnout actually this year than the first year we had it. We had 38 the first year, 48 this time, so we're growing. There were some beautiful cars, it was hard to judge it really was," Kennedy said.
Attendance at the park adjacent to the city hall in West Orange was outstanding. Mayor Randy Branch replied, "Of course the weather helps, but we got a great turnout with lots of people here. It's just been a great showing for us."
The annual event benefits the city and the people of West Orange. "This is a blessing to our city. It brings out lots of vendors, it brings out our community, it gives people a chance to visit and get together. It's a great kickoff to the holiday season," City Secretary Theresa Van Meter expressed.
