Artie Longron, 59, Orange

Artie Longron, 59, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2023, at home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Brad Bickham. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on September 17, 1964, he was the son of Arthur Eugene Longron, Jr. and Dolores “Dee” Walters (Smith). Artie was an Offshore Master Captain fisherman, once sponsored by Triton Motors. He has been a member of the Orange Boat Club for many years and the Texas Redfish record holder for over 25 years.

Artie had a heart as big as this world, he could do anything he put his mind to and always helped anyone in need. He had a wonderful personality, and he was always the life of the party. He was known by his grandkids as Pawpaw “Partie”! Artie was an expert and avid hunter and fisherman, he specifically enjoyed going to Colorado for his off -the- grid elk hunting trip every year. He loved to gather with his family and friends to BBQ, Dance and sing Karaoke.

He was the best storyteller; he had a great sense of humor and loved playing pranks on everyone. Artie loved to socialize, you could find him most mornings having coffee and breakfast with his friends at the local coffee shop or delivering coffee & donuts to their homes for a visit. He was the owner of Star “L” Ranch / VPG Inc. Land Farm.

He formerly owned Artie’s Trucking Co., Texas Hogwallow ATV Mud Park and Pawpaw’s Da Trap Restaurant. Artie was a skilled welder and usually found with one of his best friends Carl, learning from him and helping to build boats at Borel Boats. He eventually branched off and opened up his own brand of boats, Sabine River Edition.

Artie had a passion for excitement and life, some of his favorite past times include building and collecting classic cars and drag racing. Artie lived a wonderful and loving life with his wife, family & friends and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frenchie Longron and Dee Walters; grandmothers Jeanne Marcia Dover and Angel Longron; grandfathers, Eugene Longron and Joseph Dover; aunt, Cherry Longron; and brother, Rodney Longron.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Stacie Longron; daughter, Angel Longron Morein; son, AJ Longron; grandchildren, Alyssa Longron, Carley Morein, Layden Longron, and Bowen Longron; brother, Paige King and wife Brandi; nieces, Bailey King and Mckenna King Neathery; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paige King, Jack Malone, Shea Simon, John Barney, Phillip Fuller, James Cagle, Brooks Bonin, and Eli Wyatt.

Serving as Honorary pallbearer is Carl Borel.
