Kathleen Mary Sonnier, 51, Orange

Kathleen Mary Sonnier, 51, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Houston, Texas. Services to honor Kathy will be held at 1:00 PM., on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home; Bro. Steve Kidwell officiating. Rite of committal and interment will immediately follow, at Brown Cemetery.

Visitation of family and friends will be held one hour prior to services, at Dorman Funeral Home.

On Saturday, May 20, 1972, Kathy was born to Joan Worthy, in Port Arthur, Texas. Kathy remained a lifelong resident of southeast Texas, where she and her beloved husband of 29 years, Robert Neal Sonnier, raised their beautiful family. Kathy loved and worked HARD! She worked for many years at International Paper, where she held the title of Store Room Supervisor.

Kathy’s world revolved around her family; especially her kids and grandbabies. It was obvious to those around her, that Kathy was the best Nana and Momma, in the world, who took it upon herself to never miss a game or activity; She always made it known that, no matter what, she was just a phone call away. Kathy had a taste for adventure and enjoyed taking a cruise multiple times a year, and trying out as many new foods as she could.

She loved her weenie dogs like her children, especially Ivy Joe. Kathy also recently had gotten chickens, which she adored as well. She always loved a good joke and the belly laugh that was certain to come with it. Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Kathy in death is her son, Ty Cody Sonnier; adoptive parents, Bill and Marianne Hughes; step-father, Al Worthy; and one of her beloved fur babies, Lilly Anne Sonnier. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Neal Sonnier; daughters, Aimee Sonnier and Brittany Cloud (Kevin Cloud); mother, Joan Worthy; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Judy Sonnier; siblings, Shawn Wilson (Devin), Dustin Young (Joni), Michael Hughes (Julie); brother-in-law, LeDel Sonnier (Tara); Sister and best friend, Drucilla Arnold; grandbabies, Makenzi Cloud, Tanner Cloud, Dawson King, Noah Thomas, and Colter Turner; as well as numerous members of extended family, and a host of friends.

Honoring Kathy as Pallbearers are Shawn Wilson, Dusty Young, Kevin Cloud, Tanner Cloud, Michael Hughes, and LeDel Sonnier; honorary pallbearers are Dawson King, Noah Thomas, and Colter Turner.
