Fall and Carter sign college scholarships at Bridge City

Two outstanding student athletes at Bridge City signed their letters of intent on Wednesday, November 8, to play their sports at the collegiate level. Carson Fall signed to play softball at the University of Kentucky, and Demi Carter signed to play volleyball at Angelo State University.

The signing ceremonies took place in the competition gym at Bridge City High School. Jamie DeShazo the Girls Coordinator for athletics at Bridge City led the event.

DeShazo introduced Carter and Fall praising them for the example they have set. "This moment is a testament of your dedication, hard work, and exceptional talents at volleyball and softball. Both of you have been a joy to watch, and you have set the correct standard for our underclassmen to aim to achieve. Your commitment toward your academic excellence has been inspiring. I have no doubt you will continue to excel in each chapter of your lives," DeShazo expressed.

Bridge City Softball Coach Kylie Bradley recalled the many achievements Carson had achieved going into her fourth year on the varsity. Fall's accolades include first team All-District pitcher, first team All-American, All State as pitcher in 2021, District MVP, Bridge City Softball MVP, Academic All-District, SETCA MVP, first team All East Texas pitcher in 2022, and first team All-District in 2023.

Savanah DeLuna the coach of the Lady Cardinals volleyball team listed the incredible statistics Demi had accumulated in her four years playing for her. These included 1,405 kills, 227 aces, 267 blocks, and 543 digs. Carter is ranked third in her graduating class academically and was recently named the MVP on the District 19-4A All-District Volleyball Team.
