Verna Maxine Clark, 93, Bridge City

Maxine Clark, 93, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on November 27, 2023, at her home in Bridge City.

Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Warren, Texas, on February 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Guy Williford and Nora Gant Williford. Maxine started working at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator at the age of 16. Later, she was promoted to Service Order Provider and remained employed there until she retired. She loved flowers and being outdoors. Most of all, Maxine cherished spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Truett Clark; her parents, Guy and Nora Williford; and her brothers, Elmer-Royce Williford and R.G. Williford.

She is survived by her children, George Clark and wife, Phyllis, Robert Clark, Don Clark and wife, Elise, and Carolyn LeBlanc and husband, Curtis; her grandchildren, Ben Clark and wife, Julie, TeeJoe LeBlanc and wife, Annie, Brandi Braxton and husband, Micheal, Sean Clark and wife, Lindsey, Cassie Lacey and husband, Daniel, Shane Clark and wife, Regina, and David Howard; and her great-grandchildren, Norah LeBlanc, Dylan Braxton, Luke LeBlanc, Kendall Braxton, Dechlan Clark, Evan Clark, Grant Clark, and Riley Clark.
