Catherine “Faye” Bellanger, 79, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 28, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Groves, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Ernie Carpio of St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Officiating the Rosary Service will be Deacon Steve Obernuefemann of St. Henry Catholic Church. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on May 2, 1944, she was the daughter of Carroll Plessala and Eve Vaughn Plessala. Faye was a woman of faith and a devout Catholic. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved her family more than anything, and her family lovingly dubbed her Hawkette and her husband as Hawk. One of Faye’s favorite activities was going out to eat with her family, and she greatly enjoyed her time with them. She was a kindhearted and selfless woman, always putting the needs of others before herself. Faye loved music, singing, and dancing and was known as “mom” to all her children’s friends. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thaddeus Bellanger; her parents, Carroll and Eve Plessala; her son, Troy Bellanger; her brothers, Lynn Plessala, Sonny Plessala, Dickie Plessala, and Michael Plessala; and her sisters, Cindy Rodriguez, and Peggy Plessala.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tammy Trahan and husband Stan, Terry Bellanger and wife Kristen, and Tod Bellanger and wife Alicia; her grandchildren, Mitch Trahan and wife Paije, Hunter Bellanger, Anthony Bellanger, Laken Bellanger, and Austin Bellanger; her sisters, Becky LeBerge, and Sylvia Plessala; along with numerous other loving friends and family. Serving as pallbearers will be Mitch Trahan, Hunter Bellanger, Anthony Bellanger, Laken Bellanger, and Austin Bellanger.
