Jerry Wilson, fondly known as JT, was born in Texas City Texas to Verdie and Jariet Wilson his parents.  He was known as the Kirbyville hopper (due to his dancing style) and a great running back in his younger years at Kirbyville High School.

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend, and Pastor.  He served in the US Marines. He was a pipefitter out of Local 195 for most of his life and traveled throughout the US working as a pipefitter eventually working in Lake Charles for LNG Trunkline where he retired.  Though pipefitting was his trade God called him to Pastor halfway through his life and he began to pioneer works throughout LA.  These works were in Iota, and Iowa, and he also was Pastor of Sulphur Assemblies of God Churches. Where God used Jerry to reach those who the world had discarded as unwanted and unloved. He went into the highways and byways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the hurting and dying world.  There are souls who are in heaven today because he was willing to reach out.

Jerry was met in Heaven on 1-11-24 by his first wife Gail Broussard, his Mom and Dad, his sister Barbara and brother in law Dick Saunders and his grand daughter Maigon Abshire.  He is survived by his second wife Joann Wilson and 2 sister in laws Pat & Debi and his children Rebecca Wilson Barker, Lori (Donnie) Parker, Renee (David) Abshire, Jerry (Karen) Wilson, Ricky (Kay) Wilson, grandchildren Candice (Chase) Campbell, Jeremy Parker, Chase (Kylee) Parker, Brittany Abshire, Sheree Abshire, Becky (Vincent) Wilson, Haley (Seth) Pierce, Jessica (Colby) Morvant, Elyssa (John) Savoie, Grayce Barker, great grandchildren Caleb, Cayden, Sarah, Elijah, Rachel, Malachi, Braxton, Maverick, Isabella, Adaleigh,

You are cherished and loved from your family for taking care of him when we couldn’t.

The family would also like to thank the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice who took care of our Dad, Husband, and Grandfather.
