Geraldine “Jerry” Buxton Reedy, a former longtime resident of Orange, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Arvada, Colorado. She had been a resident of Arvada for the last seven years. Born in Starks, Louisiana on January 21, 1927, Jerry was the daughter of Haston Buxton and Georgiana (Doiron) Buxton and was a graduate of Starks High School. In 1945, Jerry moved to Orange where on June 5, 1951, she married Thomas Wilson Reedy. She was a homemaker and member of First United Pentecostal Church in Orange. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; Donna Kay Reedy; brothers, Orville Buxton, Lon E. Buxton, C.R. Buxton; and sisters, Geneva Chandler and Cora LaGrone. Jerry is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Lynn and Reverend Kenneth Rainer of Arvada, Colorado; grandchildren, Deanne Martinez and her husband, Eric, Tyron Rainer and his wife, Jennifer, Damon Rainer and his wife, Mina, and Caleb Rainer and his wife, Traci; 11 great grandchildren and her sister, Erma Jean Yadon. The family will receive friends for visitation at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Saturday, February 3, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service of celebration and thanksgiving for Jerry’s life at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend C.J. Walea, Reverend Tyron Rainer and Bentley Martinez. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange with Tyron Rainer, Damon Rainer, Caleb Rainer, Eric Martinez, Bradley Martinez and Bentley Martinez, serving as pallbearers.
