Cheryl Marie Granger, 71, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2024, at Focused Care in Orange. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Antony Paulose of St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A Rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m., officiated by Deacon Melvin Payne of St. Mary Catholic Church. Born in Orange, Texas, on September 27, 1952, she was the daughter of J. Sidney Richard and Mary Hilda Cormier Richard. Cheryl dedicated her career to serving others as a Travel Consultant for the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring after nearly 30 years of service. Cheryl had a heart full of love and care. She always put others before herself and made sure to spread happiness wherever she went. Cheryl took immense pride in being a lifelong resident of Orange and devoted member of St. Mary Catholic church. She will forever be remembered as someone who brightened the lives of those around her through her selfless actions and caring nature. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Hilda Richard; siblings, Bobby Richard, Betty Fontenot, Jackie Steele, and Joseph Richard. She is survived by her son, Lucas Granger; siblings, Kermit Richard and wife Lynn, and Charlene Andrapont and husband, Leon; and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving friends and family. Serving as pallbearers will be Lucas Granger and Sidney Richard.
