Robert Scott Tankersley, 62, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2024, at home. Born in Houston, Texas, on April 3, 1961, he was the son of Henry Tankersley and Mary (Hebert) Tankersley Granger. Robert was a jack of all trades; he was an ironworker, construction worker, and a metal worker. He became the owner of a metal building company which he shared with his wife. Robert was a great father and a loving husband. He always worked hard for his family and made sure they had everything they needed. He was known as “Pops” to the neighborhood kids who would come and hang out at the house. Robert loved to fish and could be found in his favorite spots when he had free time to spare. He was also quick with a quip or remark that would make people laugh and smile. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Tankersley and Mary Granger; brothers, Randy Tankersley and Troy Granger. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Stacey Lawrence Tankersley; In-laws, Bobby and Alice Lawrence; son, Ryan Tankersley; daughter, Chauntal Tankersley Romero; grandchildren, Emma Romero, Avery Romero, and Eliath Tankersley; siblings, Michael Keith Tankersley and wife, Stephanie, Phillip “Pete” Granger, Priscilla Ford, Todd Granger; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
