Earl Paul Johnson, Jr., 38, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2024, at home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Born in Marrero, Louisiana, on February 7, 1986, he was the son of Earl Paul Johnson, Sr. and Coleathia “Kristy” (Purcell) Johnson. Earl was the eldest son, the eldest grandson, brother, cousin, and friend to many. He was a kindhearted, old soul. He loved laughing, video games, music, poetry, painting, cooking, dancing, and spending time with his family. He was naturally talented in everything he did and was always the life of the party. He was awarded bartender of the year in New Orleans, Louisiana. He traveled to many places to see many great things. Earl was very strong willed and determined. Once his mind was made up, he would stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. He marched through life to beat of his own drum. Earl was always unapologetically himself. Everything he did, he did one hundred percent. He loved his family, his baby brother, and his baby sister unconditionally. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Rodney Purcell; and grandmother, Earline Johnson. He is survived by his parents, Kristy and Earl Johnson, Sr.; god parents, Phyllis Johnson and Eugene Johnson, Jr.; grandfather, Eugene W. Johnson, Sr.; grandmother, Priscilla Purcell; siblings, Christopher Michael Johnson, Kristina Ann Johnson; aunts and uncles, Angela Accord and Don Ochs, Tricia McDaniel and husband, Keith, Bryan Purcell and wife, Gladys, Phyllis Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Jr., and Pamela LeGlue; and many cousins and other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
