Jose Alberto de la Puente, 78, Orange

Jose Alberto de la Puente, 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2024, at home. A Memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, on March 20, 1945, he was the son of Jose Carlos de la Puente and Leonor Riveron de la Puente. Alberto was a Naval Architect and Mechanical Engineer with three master’s degrees. He was a brilliant individual who had a passion for his work and a deep love for his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and they called him "LELO" He enjoyed spending time with them and creating wonderful memories. In his leisure time, Alberto found joy in solving Sudoku puzzles and playing lighthearted pranks on those around him, as well as taking the most wonderful photos. In his lifetime, he touched the hearts of many with his kindness and wisdom and will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Carlos and Leonor. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Irene B. de la Puente; daughter, Andrianna Kovatch and husband, Jared; son, Andres de la Puente and wife, Caitlin; grandchildren, Annalise Kovatch, Maverick Kovatch, and Evelyn Kovatch; siblings, Patricia de la Puente Ferrat, and Gina de La Puente Mendez; and numerous other loving family and friends. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
