West Orange City Councilors take oaths

West Orange City Councilors Jay Odom (left), Lanie Brown and Mike Shugart have taken their oaths of office for new two-year terms. The incumbents drew no opponents for the May election. The council, led by Mayor Randy Branch, reappointed Councilor Meritta Kennedy as mayor pro tem. Other reappointments were for Carl Thibodeaux as city judge with Odom as alternate judge, Chris Levins as City Attorney, David Roberts as fire chief, and Simmie Gibson as assistant fire chief.
