Melody Kay Fruge-Green was born on November 9th 1969 in Orange, Tx to Betty & Elgie Fruge.
Melody attended Little Cypress Schools and graduated in 1988. After graduation, she spent much of her life teaching, with 17 years of experience at Orangefield as well as time at other Southeast Texas schools such as Little Cypress Elementary and West Orange Elementary.
She was a Lamar University graduate with a bachelors degree, after many years of teaching Melody opened her own daycare where she cared for many children. “Miss Melly” as the kids would call her, had a way with children like no other, she treated and loved everyone’s child as if they were her own. Melody enjoyed doing all sorts of crafts in her spare time whether that be painting, taking pictures, coloring, or doing a diy project - but her favorite pastime was spending time doing absolutely anything with her husband and two daughters.
If you could count on Melody Kay for anything it’s that she she’s running late & she will have a Diet Dr Pepper in her hand! She was a phenomenal baker and cook who passed down many of her recipes and skills to her family. Melody was a selfless and kind-hearted friend and an amazing wife & mother, with a heart of gold and the mouth of a sailor!
She was beautiful, smart, and just absolutely hilarious, but above all else she was so proud to be a mother to Abby and Anna, they were truly her pride and joy.
Melody was preceded in death by her father Elgie Fruge, Nephew Matthew Cook, Brother-In-Law Matt Cook, and Father-In-Law Kenneth Green.
She is survived by her devoted husband Gary Dale Green, daughters Abby Dale Green and Anna Kay Green as well as family members Mason, Aspyn & Buck Forbes, Jace Nunnelly, Mother Betty Fruge, Mother in Law Rusty Green, Brother Jay Fruge, Sisters Vicki Fruge Oceguera and Debbie Fruge Joslin, Neices and Nephews, Jessica, Tara, Carrie-Jo, Hunter, Blayne, Sarah, Ryan, Grant, Austin and Gage, Sister and Brother in Laws Jana and Casey Green, and Kelly and John Kimbrough as well as many other great-nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
The family plans to host a private celebration of life, details to be announced.
