John Henry Williams, 76, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2024, at Focused Care in Orange. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Brown. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on May 31, 1948, he was the son of Williford Burton Williams and Ola Dean Tuttle Williams. John dedicated many years of his life to serving as a Deputy at Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. His unwavering commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of others earned him respect and admiration from his community and his family. In addition to his remarkable career, John also bravely served in the United States Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His courage and sacrifice in defense of his country will never be forgotten. Outside of his professional life, John was known for his love of fishing, finding solace and joy in the peaceful moments spent by the water. He also had a great appreciation for good food and dining out. However, above all else, John was a devoted husband and family man. His love for his family knew no bounds. His love and affection spilled over onto his many pets and animals as well, with a special place in his heart reserved for his beloved dog. He is preceded in death by his parents, Williford and Ola Williams; and his sister, Loretta Waterbury. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Patti Williams; his daughters, Alisha Silver and husband, David, and Rebecca Williams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Vicki McGill; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church in Mauriceville.
