Connie Clark Velasquez, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 19, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Little Cypress Baptist Church at 3274 Little Cypress Dr, Orange, TX 77632. Officiating will be Reverend David Turner. Inurnment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn at 2312 Irving St, West Orange, TX 77630. Born in Kenova, West Virginia, on July 27, 1950, she was the daughter of Paul “P.C.” Clark and Mary Lou Napier Clark. Connie's life was adorned with various interests and activities that brought her immense joy. Her time in the United States Air Force showcased her commitment to serving her country with pride and honor. Beyond her military service, Connie found solace in the simplicity of life - whether it was casting a line while fishing, nurturing her garden into bloom, or engaging in heartfelt conversations with dear friends. Her greatest joy in life, however, was her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. Connie was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church and faithful volunteer at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Orange Christian Services, which exemplified her love for the Lord, selflessness, and genuine desire to uplift those in need. She was also a proud member of The American Legion Post 49. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, P.C. and Mary Lou Clark; her husband, George Velasquez; her son, Brian Varney; her daughter, Rebecca Velasquez; and her brother, Bobby Dale Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Hattie Davidson and husband, Bo; her son, Jason Velasquez and wife, Ruthie; her son Brian’s wife, Tracey Tynes; her grandchildren, Natalie Varney, Madelynn Varney, Matthew Varney, McKenzie Varney, Mia Velasquez, Hayley Ritonja, Rebecca LaFon, April Davidson, Katelyn Davidson, Sarah Belle Davidson, Sabrina Davidson, Eli Davidson, and Soloman Davidson; her three great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra McCall and husband, Ricky; and numerous other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Orange Christian Services at 2518 W Park Ave, Orange, Texas 77630, or a church of your choosing. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
