Rick “R.J.” Jerald Hampton, 38, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 16, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 22, 2024, at Outlaw Bible Church on Hwy 12 in Mauriceville. Born in Galveston, Texas, on December 25, 1986, he was the son of Rick Jerald Hampton and Teresa Jefferson (Callahan). R.J. was known for his exceptional tinkering skills and the ability to figure out anything that came his way. He worked as a mechanic and his heart was as big as his love for hotrods and motorcycles. Throughout his life, R.J. created lasting memories with those around him through his passion for fixing things and his kind-hearted nature. Your legacy of love and mechanical ingenuity will continue to inspire those whose lives you touched. He is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Jefferson; grandmother, Patches Flannery; and dad, Benny Schaunberg. He is survived by his wife, Nicole; father, Rick Hampton; daughter, Allie Hampton; sons, Lanceton Hampton and Raiden Hampton. He is also survived by his siblings Britany Jefferson and spouse Ryan Stoker, Amanda Jefferson, and Dhane Ballard. Among his surviving family are his uncle Donald Flannery and wife Misty; aunts Marcia Stuteville and Alonda Callahan; cousins Alicia Rodriguez, Lindsey Rodriguez, Dana Rodriguez, and Angelica Simon; grandfather, Michael Flannery; as well as nieces and nephews Ryan Stoker Jr., Ryleigh Stocker, and Bella Guidry. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
