Shirley Ann Jones, 76, Bridge City

Shirley Ann Jones, 76, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Born on August 2, 1947, she was the daughter of Howard Dies and Amelia (Guillory) Dies. Shirley was a beloved Pediatric Nurse who later retired from Primary Care Pediatrics under the care of Dr. Minda Toledo. Shirley led a fulfilling life enriched with memories she created with her loved ones. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, always ensuring to keep in touch with everyone. Shirley found joy in conversations with her siblings and had a knack for dressing elegantly. Her personality was marked by her particular nature, strong character, and a wonderful sense of humor which endeared her to all who knew her. In her leisure time, Shirley indulged in the company of her beloved cat and dogs, Wu, Lilli, and Pav. Despite claiming not to enjoy all animals equally, she cherished lounging with them. Additionally, she shared special moments watching TV with her daughter, especially enjoying true crime shows together. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Amelia Dies; husbands, Robert E. Lee Sturrock and Raymond Louis Jones; brother, Cursey Dies; sister, Enola Elswick; brother, Fred Dies; and best friend, Laura "Boom" Elizondo. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Lené Wedlock; grandchildren, Noah Robicheaux and his wife, Erin, and Tori Lené Touchstone; siblings, Joe Dies and his wife, Sandra, Gail LaCaze and husband, Steve, Marie Mondello and husband, John, Theresa Brown and husband, Robert Sanford, Liz Turano and husband, Don, Dwayne Dies and partner, Pat Boritiza; close friends, Mark Hanks and his wife, Kristen along with their son Gavyn; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends. A special thank you to Intrepid Hospice and her nurses Mandy, Stacey, and Mrs. Mary for the wonderful care you took for Shirley.
