Kathy Ann Lanier, 67, Orange

Kathy Ann Lanier, 67, of Orange, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Jeff Bell. An inurnment will take place at a later date at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday July 9, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on November 18, 1956, she was the daughter of Charles "Glen" Wheatley, Sr. and Annabel Wilson Wheatley. Throughout life, Kathy was known for her passion for sewing and craftwork. Her creativity knew no bounds as she poured her heart into every stitch and creation. A longstanding member of Cove Baptist Church, Kathy's faith was a guiding light in all aspects of her life. Above all, Kathy cherished her roles as a dedicated wife and mother. Her nurturing spirit extended not only to her own family but to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness and warmth created a home filled with love and laughter. Kathy's love knew no bounds - from caring for her family to showering affection on her beloved dogs, she had a heart that embraced all living beings. Her grandson held a special place in her heart, and the love they shared was truly precious. In the hearts of those who knew Kathy Ann Lanier, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Annabel Wheatley; and her brother, Chuck Wheatley.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Preston Lanier; her sons, Christopher Lanier, and Matthew Lanier and wife, Amanda; her grandson, Cayden Lanier; her sister Sherry Eckerle and husband, Kenneth; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
