Local GOP Meets and New County Executives Take the Oath

The Orange County Republican Party met recently at “The Venue” in Mauriceville. The new incoming chairwoman, Cheryl Warren welcomed those present and was sworn in as were the Precinct Chairs by David Covey, also a former Orange County Chair. Ms. Warren stated in her opening remarks that the mission of the precinct chairs is to identify, inform and involve voters and turn out the vote to elect Republicans. She also shared that she is aware there are those who were misled and recruited to run for the sole purpose of sabotaging the efforts of the party. She extended the benefit of the doubt and hoped those who fall in that category will work together with us for a victory on November 5, 2024. Changes in bylaws were presented and voted on. Committees and chairs were introduced and approved by the voting members.

It was announced that the party will hold a fundraiser Thursday August 1 at 6:00 PM at The Oaks in Vidor on South Main. Speakers will be Don Huffines, President of the Huffines Liberty Foundation and Leader of the Texas First Movement, former State Senator District 16, the Dallas area and former candidate for Governor. Also speaking will be Sen. Don Hall, SD 2, elected in 2015 and speaking on Election Integrity. Sen. Hall will be addressing the fundamental flaws in Texas elections and explains the goal of the bills he has proposed. Our local speaker will be our own David Covey, former Orange County Precinct and County Chair, former Young Republican Chair and former State Republican Executive Committee District 3. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, through your precinct chair or by contacting The Orange County Republican Party of Texas by mail at P.O. Box 1804, Bridge City, TX 77611 or email the Party at [email protected].
