John Marble, 81, Sour Lake

John Marble was how he was known to many but to the rest of us he was Sonny, Dad, Pops, role model and friend. On July 4th, 2024 in Lumberton, Texas this great man passed away and left us to continue his legacy.

Born in Sour Lake, Texas, on September 23, 1942, John was the son of Welcome Marble and Mildred Glaze Marble. On February 21, 1963, John married the love of his life, Jeneanne Taylor Marble, and there they built a loving family. He was a devoted father to his 3 daughters and a loving Pops to his 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, a role model father-in-law and was loyal to his many friends.

John worked as the Safety Supervisor at Shell Oil E&P. He was a man of integrity and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His commitment to his work was unparalleled, and his colleagues admired him for his professionalism and unwavering sense of responsibility. John will be remembered not only for career achievements but also for the deep love he had for his family. His family meant everything to him, and his presence brought warmth and joy to their lives. John touched the lives of many during his time on this earth, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, kindness and unwavering character. May he rest in peace knowing that he was truly admired and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Welcome and Mildred Marble; and his sister, Flay Phelps.

He is survived by his wife, Jeneanne Marble; his children, Kim Tyson, Melinda Behannon and husband Jimmy, and Tammy Stephens and husband Jason; his grandchildren, Hunter Griffin and wife Meagan, Sterling Griffin and wife Molly, Colton Behannon and wife Emily, and Grace Tyson; his great-grandchildren, Cayson Griffin, Tripp Griffin, and Rowdy Griffin; his sister, Dora Wheeler; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
