Orange County Republican Party meets

The monthly meeting of the Orange County Republican Party was held Tuesday August 6, 2024 at The Venue in Mauriceville. In addition to the officers and the County Executive Committee, several guests were in attendance as were three of Orange County’s elected officials.

Chairman Warren discussed the August 1 Fundraiser and Lynn McCarver, the party treasurer gave a report on expenses and the money raised. All who attended agreed it was a success and the speakers were informative and set a positive tone for the upcoming election.

There was discussion on the qualifications for Poll Watchers and several in attendance showed an interest in poll watching for the upcoming Presidential Election on November 05. Sen. Bob Hall who spoke at the August 1 dinner emphasized the need for involvement to ensure election integrity.

Ms. Warren announced that the Trump Campaign offers links to get out the vote and those will be shared with all who are interested in participating. https://trumpforce47.com/ 

Mr. Tim Morrison shared the research he has been doing to create a new website for the Orange County Republican Party and the costs that the party will incur. He is hopeful that the new website will be available soon so that county residents who wish to be a part of the election year activities can access the information needed.

The Orange County Republican Party has given scholarships to students who are home schooled or attend Orange County Public or Private schools. Two of those scholarships are given for Patriot Academy founded by former State Representative Rick Green for the purpose of teaching young people about the greatness of our nation and how our government functions as well as hands on experience and the role that faith plays in our form of government. Lydia Covey, a second year attendee, recently returned from Patriot Academy and shared her experiences and encouraged others to attend and the party to continue sponsoring the opportunity for other 16 to 25 years old.
