Bost arrested in sex abuse case

On July 1, 2024, the Orange County Sheriff's Office was made aware of an alleged criminal offense concerning Deputy Ken Bost who was assigned to the patrol division at the time of the complaint.  The Orange County Criminal Investigations Division immediately began an investigation, subsequently contacting the Texas Ranger's Beaumont Office.

Once the investigation was complete, the findings were submitted to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.  The case was presented to the grand jury on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and two indictments were issued on Bost for the following Charges:

Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child (1st Degree Felony)

Indecency With A Child (2nd Degree Felony)

Warrants for Bost's arrest were issued Thursday, and Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office arrested Bost on the warrants.  He is now in custody in the Orange County jail.

No bonds have been set as of yet.

Bost was employed with the department for four years.  On the date that the complaint was made, Bost had turned in a resignation letter stating that he intended to give his two weeks notice and that he had found employment elsewhere.  After initial statements were taken from the complainants, his resignation was made effective immediately.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office thanks the Texas Rangers and the Orange County District Attorney's Office for their assistance with this case.
