Thelma Jean Hebert, 86, of Orange, passed away on Aug. 21, 2024, at Focused Care in Orange.
Thelma will be placed in her final resting place in Wetumka, Oklahoma, at a later date.
Born in Honey Grove, Texas, on June 20, 1938, she was the daughter of Fred Sanders and Audie Mae Patterson. Thelma devoted her life to her family, her career as a cosmetologist, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. Throughout her life, Thelma found immense joy in being a grandmother to her treasured granddaughter, Shelby. The bond they shared radiated warmth and love, showcasing Thelma's nurturing spirit and unwavering support. As a mother, she was a steadfast foundation for her son. Thelma's vibrant personality shone through in her interests. She was a passionate football fan, reveling in the excitement of the game as it unfolded on the field. Her love for seafood, particularly fish and shrimp, led to gatherings filled with laughter and cherished memories. Her legacy lives on through her family and friends, who will carry forth her memory with love, gratitude, and a heart full of joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Sanders and Audie Patterson; beloved husband, Charles "Butch" F. Hebert, Sr.; and siblings, Eugene Sanders, Stanley Sanders, Walley Dale Sanders, Estoline Williams, Janetta Hollowell, Mary Alice Gregory, and Evelyn Marlene Sanders.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles "Bosco" Hebert, Jr. and partner, Sarah; her granddaughter, Shelby Hebert, and partner, Reese; siblings, Fred Sanders, Jr., Daniel W. Sanders, James F. Sanders, Betty Matthews, and Sharon Grice; sister-in-law, Carolyn A. Smith; as well as other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
