Born in Leesville, Louisiana on September 21, 1941, Danny was the son of Luther McVale Brack and Norma Joy Barker Been. If you had to describe Danny Brack in one word, most would agree on “determined”. At a young age, Danny was left as the man of the house where he met the challenge and responsibility of taking care of his family. He sold peas by the road to pay for school clothes for his siblings and even shined shoes for 10 cents to buy Christmas gifts for his mother and sisters.

As he grew older, his journey from humble beginnings to a successful business owner was marked by sheer grit and perseverance. His first job was at Wingate’s Meat Market where he learned how to cut meat at the age of 14. He moved on to work at Weingarten’s Grocery store and as meat manager at Gerland Foods before becoming the proud owner of his own business of Danny’s in West Orange. He would later expand with K-Dan’s in Orangefield. He spent many years in the grocery business where he left a footprint and a legacy in the Orange area.

He took great pride in his business, but his generosity extended far beyond the store shelves. Danny’s life was marked by his quiet generosity, often working behind the scenes to support and give to those in need without seeking recognition.  Beyond his professional success, Danny was known for his memorable one-liners, often dispensed with a twinkle in his eye or a stern look, depending on the subject. He often told stories and gave advice from his chair in his garage or his office, where he was always eager to be right and offer his unique perspective. His daughter and granddaughters all cherish the simple greeting that spoke volumes of his pride in them, “Hey baby girl”. His sons and grandsons often heard “Hey boo” capturing the camaraderie between them.

When it came to family, there was no doubt where he stood. His family was everything to him. Danny made it a point to honor God’s order of loving his wife, Sherry and providing for his family in the best way he knew how. He had a rough exterior at times, but deep inside he was tenderhearted and kind; an intimidating teddy bear one might say.

He loved God with all of his heart and found great joy in singing his favorite hymns and gospel songs. He was a prayer warrior. Even in the last month of his life, he was heard praying throughout the night for his family. Danny deeply loved his family, who will forever cherish the memories and legacy that he left behind. Thank you, Pawpaw for teaching your family how to love, how to give, and how to keep going even when times are tough!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther McVale Brack and Norma Joy Barker Been; his brothers, William Isaiah Brack and John Delbert Brack; and his beloved grandson, Dustin Tyler Brack.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Primm Brack; sons, Dan Brack (Darla), Darwin Brack (Kim), Jeff Lummus (Hope); daughter, Lori Morgan (Art); grandchildren, Lindsay Brack, Ashley Granger (Ryan), Meagan Monceaux (Keigan), Ryan Brack (Kaylon), Dusti Boykin (Brenner), Haley Shores (Josh), Kacie Wright (Cody), Brody Morgan (McKenzie), Shellie Radley (Koby), Karlie Morgan, and Emmi Michael (Kent); sisters, Norma Lee Bolton (J.W.) and Audrey V.
