Charles "Charley" Joseph Hartman, 75, Orange

Charles "Charley" Joseph Hartman of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sept. 20, 2024 in Houston, Texas, the age of 75.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Darrell Segura.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas.

Born on February 22, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Charles dedicated over 40 years of his life to the sea as a merchant marine, a career that allowed him to experience the world while shaping his adventurous spirit. Charles was not only dedicated professional but also an individual with a love for music. He found joy in playing guitar and participated actively in bands alongside his friends, sharing his musical talents and creating cherished memories. His enthusiasm for music complemented his larger-than-life personality, making him a cherished companion among those fortunate enough to know him.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter Heather Jonasson and her husband Mans, and his two grandsons, Leo Jonasson and Max Jonasson. Charles is also survived by his brother, Len Hartman, and his wife Darlyne, who will carry forward the legacy of family bonds and memories he cherished.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Joseph Hartman and Pauline Davenport Hartman.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
