The Stark Museum of Art invites couples, friends and art enthusiasts to a special Date Night at the Museum on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the 2024 College Juried Art Exhibition. This free evening event offers an opportunity to meet featured college artists and view exceptional artwork while enjoying live music, appetizers and interactive activities.
The evening will feature live music from local musicians David Justin and Haley Barnes, small bites and beverages from Free State Cellars, including delicious refreshments to complement the night's festivities, and interactive gallery games led by teaching artists from the Stark Museum of Art, offering an engaging way to explore the museum and enjoy the evening.
"Date Night at the Museum is designed to be a fun, inspiring evening for all. Join us as we honor the college artists, revel in live entertainment and enjoy an evening together in the galleries," said Jennifer Dickinson, executive director of the Stark Museum of Art. "Come for the art, stay for the experience."
Guests will be the first to see this year's winning art pieces and connect with the talented young artists whose works were selected from colleges across the region. Attendees can look forward to discovering the award-winning pieces in a showcase designed to celebrate the diversity of artistic vision, skill and creative expression from talented college students in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.
