Taryn Doiron (Orange, Texas/Bridge City HS) will play her final two seasons of college volleyball at Lamar University.
Doiron was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Setter of the Year for the second consecutive year. She leads the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in assists (1,068) entering this week's national tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Doiron is second in the country in assists per set (11.24).
She had a career-high 62 assists in a five-set win at NJCAA Division I Temple College. Doiron har 50 or more assists in four matches this year. She had five aces in sweeps of nationally-ranked Dallas College Brookhaven and against Dallas College Mountain View.
Doiron was an NJCAA Division III First Team All-American as a freshman. Eastfield went 35-0 to win the national championship last year.
The No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees (30-1) play Harrisburg Area Community College (18-10) in the opening round of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament 1 p.m. CT Thursday. The quarterfinals will also be held Thursday. The championship match is Saturday.
