Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
The Orange Train Depot will have a holiday version of bingo on Sunday, December 1, with doors opening at 2 p.m. and games beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The charge is $25 and includes 15 rounds of bingo, plus mimosas and light hors d'oevres. Each bingo round will have a prize, and in addition, door prizes will be awarded.
Admission is limited to 80 people with first-come, first to enter.
The event is a fundraiser for the historic Southern Pacific Railroad train station built in the early 1900s. It was abandoned and decaying until it was rescued and restored by the non-profit group Friends of the Orange Depot under the leadership of former Orange resident Carrie Joiner Woliver.
Money raised through the bingo event goes for the upkeep and preservation of the building, which has a Texas Historical Marker.
The depot is at 1210 Green Avenue, along what is now the Union Pacific railroad tracks in the Old Orange Historic District.
