Christmas in Orangefield slated for Oct. 21

Who is ready for another Christmas parade? Christmas in Orangefield kicks off with one at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21. The parade path starts at Orangefield Oil Supply on FM 508 and travels down FM105, taking a right on Sandbar Road down to the Orangefield Junior High School.

The public is invited to celebrate, shop, eat and enjoy good entertainment, visit with Santa and the Grinch and make this an unforgettable Christmas.

Christmas in Orangefield was started several years ago by the Orangefield Cormier Museum, but has since become the Orangefield Fine Art Boosters annual scholarship fundraiser. They support the OHS Band, Colorguard, Choir and Sophisticats.

The Christmas tradition continues after the parade on the Jr. high campus with vendors and food booths set up outside from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

“We have a plan B for inclement weather,” said Chris Kovatch, president of the Fine Arts Boosters.

Live performances begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Jr. high gym.

“Performances include band, drill team and the Orange Blossom Dancers,” said Kovatch. They are still looking to add other entertainers and groups, he added.

Pictures with Santa and the Grinch available 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the Orangefield Jr. High foyer.

There are still vendor opportunities and it’s not to late to enter something in the parade.

“Reach out to us via our Facebook page or by emailing [email protected],” said Kovatch.
